Liza Paskevych
"My parents, as non-educated immigrants, have made incredible sacrifices to support my dreams, working grueling jobs and helping family members escape war in Ukraine.
My early years in America were marked by challenges and hardships. I started working as a barista at 16, juggling part-time jobs with extra classes to save for my dream of attending law school. Thanks to this scholarship, this reality is more obtainable."

"My journey towards becoming a lawyer is rooted in a profound desire to make a difference in the lives of those who have faced injustice, much like my own experiences growing up in the Philippines. Witnessing poverty, corruption, and systemic injustices in my homeland, I always knew that I wanted to be a lawyer to create positive change.
One of the most significant emotional hurdles I had to overcome was the financial burden associated with immigrating to the United States. My family arrived with very little, and my parents, who were also immigrants, faced challenges in supporting my higher education aspirations.
Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity."
